Steal my poems
if you want to,
the old monk said.
That's where folk
sayings come from.

IT'S NOT ENOUGH
It's not enough
to understand,
the old monk said.
You want to be
able to predict.

YOU ANGELS
Your angels keep
their own counsel,
the old monk said.
What he meant was
they won't burden you
with their problems.
