AMONG THE WATCHERS
Among the watchers
someone is always watching,
though the earth-bound
seldom notice,
the old monk said.

Sometimes you can't
tell his notes from
his doodles,
the poet said about
the old monk's
notebooks.

A poet lives the world
the way God is the universe,
