ALL THIS TIME
All this time I've been trying
to understand what the numbers mean,
the old monk said. They won't tell me.

GIVING AND RECEIVING
Giving and receiving,
the other end
of the same string,
the old monk said.

THE OLD MONK SAID
The old monk said:
establish that
a dozen is
about twelve
and you can say
eleven donuts
in that dozen, ma'am?
That's about twelve.
