UNLESS YOU BE
Unless you be broken
you cannot be made whole
and you cannot touch God,
the old monk told his students.

THE SOUL BUZZES
The soul buzzes
like a bee
when it leaves
the body --
listen for it
when you die,
the old monk said.

YES, THAT STAR
Yes, that star
which does not
move some call
the Sky Nail, or
the Nail Star,
and it is
the stake to
which all Star
Horses are
tethered, the
old monk said.
