THREE OLD MONK POEMS (263)
WHEN THE RIVER
When the river
is not a god
in your mythology,
you have to make
your god a tree,
the old monk said.
~
IT ALWAYS SEEMS
It always seems
what you come back from
you still go forward to,
the old monk said.

WHAT PULLS
What pulls the Great Attractor
pulls us
and we fly towards it --
lightning and the acrid
smell of loss,
the old monk said.
