THREE OLD MONK POEMS (210)
KNOWING A WOMAN
Knowing a woman
is like being
a good piece of wood --
she puts you where
she wants you and
you stay,
the old monk said.
~
I HAVE STOOD
I have stood
in the dry grass
in the wind
at the end
of summer
waiting for
the horses
to return,
the old monk said.
I have seen
the stars
come home.
~
2 X 5
2 x 5 is
two elbows and a fist,
the old monk said.
2 x 10 you can imagine.
