THREE OLD MONK POEMS (106)
I COULD SELL
I could sell it to you
for a dollar,
the old monk told
the miser, and
you'd still come back
asking don't it
come with attachments?
~
I WATCH IT
I watch it
from left to right
as it drifts across
the evening,
my sadness,
the old monk said.
~
IF FIVE
If five was noon,
the old monk said,
four would be
an hour before
and six one later,
and nobody would
know, I think, what
time is dinner.
