THREE from
THE OLD POET SAYS
THE OLD POET SAYS
“Silly poet,”
he said. “You
want them to
call your play,
but you can't
run your route.”
*
“Yup,” said the poet,
“you always
talk about yourself
in the second
or third person.”
*
“Murmur
of words,
the drone,”
he said.
“I get
no sleep,
no rest
from buzz
and shriek
and cry.
I get
even
more from
silence.”
